COVID-19 and FOCUS Missions: Fall 2021

FOCUS Missions is incredibly grateful to our partners in the U.S. and around the world, and to all our participants who joined in serving with us this past academic year. As we look ahead to the 2021-2022 mission year, we recognize the persistent need in our communities, especially during the continued challenge of COVID-19. Now more than ever, we are called to serve the physical and spiritual needs of the poor, and to do so in a way that upholds the health and safety of everyone involved.

FOCUS Missions’ priority is always the health and safety of our participants, staff, and those we serve on mission. Throughout the past twelve months, we have developed and put into practice several critical measures that allowed us to successfully send over 60 mission trips with 1,100+ participants.

These measures included participants testing negative for COVID prior to mission, observing local health ordinances, providing mission groups with COVID tests on the ground, thoroughly researching and monitoring all domestic and international locations with the assistance of our Security Consultant, building out quarantine contingency plans, and more. These measures all contributed to a safe and transformative mission season. Of the more than 1,100 participants, we had only one participant experience travel interruption due to COVID.

FOCUS Missions considers many factors when deciding whether to serve in a specific location. We will continue to implement the effective practices mentioned above throughout the coming year, in addition to preparing our participants to act in safe and responsible ways. In addition, we will closely monitor every mission site and ensure that our trips are able to operate within the local COVID guidelines.

Applications are now open for Winter, Spring, and Summer mission trips! We welcome your questions and are ready to assist you in participating on a mission trip this upcoming year. We ask you to join us in praying for all those affected by COVID-19 as well as those we will serve.
