COVID-19 and FOCUS Missions: 8/12/20
The FOCUS Missions team would like to extend a thank you to all of those who went out to serve the poor this past Winter and Spring Break season. Thank you also to those who wanted to participate and were unable to serve on Spring Break and Summer missions in 2020. We hope that despite the turmoil and uncertainty of these past few months, you have still found many graces, peace, and light during darker moments in our present time. Please know that we have been praying for the health and well-being of you and your families during these challenging times. For those with scholarships from canceled trips, we are doing everything we can to safely plan and implement trips this next year.
As we look forward to the upcoming Winter, Spring Break, and Summer mission seasons, we are hopeful that there will still be many opportunities for us to serve. Now more than ever, there is a great need to serve the physical and spiritual needs of the poor.
The first priority of FOCUS Missions is always the safety of our participants, staff, and the people we encounter on mission. With all the changes taking place in our country due to COVID-19, we have decided to make changes to our mission calendar, keeping in mind safety guidelines and travel restrictions. We are currently evaluating the viability and safety of our Winter, Spring Break, and Summer missions moving forward, as well as working closely with our domestic and international hosts to devise a plan.
For now, we are not planning international mission trips until July 2021. FOCUS Missions is still evaluating the safety and prudence of trips within the United States in March 2021, open to students residing within the U.S. Please be aware that all mission trips will operate within COVID guidelines and restrictions and are subject to change based on these restrictions for the next several months.
We welcome your questions and ask for patience with so many unknowns still in the picture. Please know that we are working hard to assist you in mission this upcoming year, and we ask you to join us in praying for all those affected by COVID-19.
